One thousand fentanyl pills, right, were among the drugs seized in a recent traffic stop in Costa Mesa. On Friday, two Huntington Beach police officers were exposed to the drug during an early morning traffic stop. The officers were examined at a hospital and released, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported.

Two Huntington Beach police officers were exposed to fentanyl during a traffic stop early Friday in the unincorporated Midway City area of Orange County, authorities said.
Paramedics and a hazardous-materials team were sent to Beach Boulevard and Madison Avenue about 12:30 a.m., according to the Orange County Fire Authority.
The officers were examined at a hospital and released, the Huntington Beach Police Department reported. Orange County health officials were notified.
