Lancers edge Vanguard, 1-0

The Cal Baptist women’s soccer team fired 18 shots Monday against
visiting Vanguard and defeated the Lions, 1-0, in a Golden State
Athletic Conference game. Amy Harris scored the game’s only goal from
10 yards out at the 71:55 mark as the Lancers improved to 4-3, 2-1 in
the GSAC.
Vanguard (4-5-2, 1-2) attempted only two shots in the second half.
VU goalie Jordan Fredriksen had six saves.

GOLF: UCI women in hunt
The UC Irvine women’s golf team is in eighth place after one round
of the Heather Farr/University of Colorado Tournament.
Freshman Sara Huber leads UCI in 18th place at 77, six strokes off
the pace. The event concludes today with the final 18 holes. Stella Lee (78), Angela Won (78), Shelly Raworth (82) and Channing Lovejoy
(87) are also playing for UCI. Nevada tops the 16-team field at 298.
